We stayed at the Little John hotel for a cycling trip, the staff were very friendly, accommodating, helpful and considerate. Good breakfast spread, great value for money, would return when visiting the area again.
Stayed one night prior to Xmas. Lovely room. Beautiful shower room with radiator/heated towel rail. Nice firm mattress. Nice decor. Elegant Radiators Warm. Good Wifi. Free car parking. Handy location. Good customer service. Nice bar with real fire. Some negative issues (will email hotel) but overall a nice place in great location.
We stayed for dinner after a long hike and we are so glad we did! The food and service from Emma and Frankie was brilliant. It felt very homely and cozy next to the fire and the fish and chips were 10/10! We recommend the Little John Hotel to anyone staying in the Peak District
Nice little hotel few things could make it better as mentioned below but that's me being picky. Great location smack bang in the middle of Hathersage, short walking distance to shops, other restaurants etc and very close to the open air pool if you are brave enough. Great staff, friendly attentive. The bar can get very busy but had a great community vibe. Dinners are good our whole group enjoyed the meals, same with breakfast. Minor things (constructive feedback)... 1- creaky bed in the Scarlett will room, really creaky, woke myself up every time I shuffled in the night. 2- TV mounted too high, genuine neckache watching for more than half an hour. 3- Weird one, no ketchup or brown sauce on the tables for breakfast , had to wait until a member of staff came in to ask them for some, just find that a bit odd. 4- similarly no milk jug next to the coffee/tea station. Found at opposite end of breakfast area with cereals but witnessed most people making a drink and hunting for it. 5- Definitely need a more commercial toaster. Pure carnage watching people gathering around willing more heat out of it. Lastly - instant coffee , would defo improve if there was a dripper/style machine .
Excellent place to stay. The staff absolutely made it. From the moment we arrived nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless, the shower had real power, and the bar noise from downstairs was barely audible. Definitely will stay there again

Stayed one night in a twin room. It was fine for the price. Very clean with all amenities. Lovely bathroom (bit of a smell though). Comfy beds. Food was nice. Great location too. Don’t book though booking.com though as they’ve been hacked and I almost lost money.
This place is a little gem .we arrived on Friday 9th January 26 and was greeted by a lovely lady called Emma who couldn't do enough for us both . We stayed in one of the cottages which is absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of teas and coffee. This place is so clean and homely, Emma told us about the places to visit which we did . The food is amazing all made on sight by Ian who happens to be be Emma's brother.. the breakfast is brilliant from a full English and continental. Teas and coffees . Just can't falt this place
